REGISTRATION OPENING SOON

WELCOME TO THE ARKANSAS MARATHON

We invite you to come enjoy a great run in a unique Marathon. We are looking forward to seeing you in South Logan County!

ABOUT THE MARATHON

The Arkansas Marathon is one of the oldest and most unique marathons in the South. The race is not crowded, parking is easy, and the scenery is great! In fact, you may even find yourself sharing the road with deer, turkey, squirrel and the odd rabbit or two. The road course takes you along the northern boundry of the Ouachita National Forest and is an out-and-back course.

The best times for the race are:
Male: 2:26:52 on 02/05/83
Female: 2:58:34 on 03/06/82

The race also finishes in the middle of the local October Daze fall festival so your family and friends can shop, listen to music or just hang out while you run.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes but only the marathon.

Yes. All races start at 7:00AM

No! With the exception of the start/finish area, the entire course is on an active state highway. While we do our best to keep the runners safe through signs and police presence, it is still an active highway.
Please run against traffic - i.e. on the left-hand shoulder. Stay alert and aware of traffic and watch out for your fellow runners!!. We want everyone that starts to finish!

Yes. There is a 7 hour time limit - from 7:00AM to 2:00PM. Most of the aide stations will shut down at 1:00PM but we have a mobile aide station that will be driving the course until 2:00PM if necessary.

Walkers are allowed and even encouraged in the 5K race - keeping in mind the 7 hour time limit. We do ask that those that are walking start toward the back, behind those that are running.

All finishers will receive a nice finisher medal. Also, 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers in their age groups will receive an additional medal.
See some of the pictures on this site to get an idea.

Since all courses are "out and back" there is no need for a shuttle!
However if you'd like to freshen up before joining in at the October Daze festival, we will provide a shuttle to and from local churches that have made showers available.
